Tall, Dark, & Deadly

Half-vampire. half-human. 100% Badass.

Now, let’s see if her new boss loves jailbirds.

Chloe Hunter can’t seem to stay out of trouble. Incarcerated by The Bureau after running amok for a century with a gang of vampires, grifting and terrorizing humanity, she’s ready to make up for her dark past. Luckily, when The Bureau would rather see her at the end of a wooden stake, in comes her new straight-laced boss, Ethan Raines who’s got other plans for the enthralling ex-con.

An enigmatic vampire who finds Chloe’s hybrid blood and sexy street prowess too irresistible to pass up, Ethan requests The Bureau to release her into his custody to protect the streets of New Orleans. Now, her debt to society is to punish other supernaturals who break the law and bring them to justice.

When Chloe’s old gang involves her in a plot to unlock a mysterious box of woe, she’s forced to make some hard choices that threaten to betray the trust of the man who’s given her a second chance at life and love. Ethan may have his work cut out for him in Tall, Dark & Deadly, the first steamy blockbuster in the Agents of The Bureau series!

“Tall, Dark & Deadly” is the first book of her “Agents of The Bureau” series. Expect more sexy, dangerous and even hilarious installments to be released along with a new “ShadowShifter” series coming in 2017.

“So, I take it this is new for you, Mr. Raines?”

Ethan looked up at her briefly, “What do you mean?”

“Nursing half-vamps. I figured if you’re as old as people think you are you would’ve met a few like me. Dhampirs, I mean.”

He injected her and felt her shiver. He instinctively rubbed her arm to warm her. “Sorry, I forget how cold my hands can be compared to yours.”

“It’s alright.” Chloë sensed her shiver was from his touch, but the temperature had nothing to do with it.

“Well, it should please you to know that I can say, without a doubt, Ms. Hunter, that I have never in my life met someone like you.”

She gave him an impish grin. “I’ll take that as a compliment. I break molds.”

“Yeah. More like blow them up,” he quipped in his signature deadpan voice as he got up and brought the vials back to the bedroom.

Chloë laughed. “Did you just make a joke?” She folded her arms and smiled. “Because if so, that’s kinda cool. You may not be the hard-assed boss I thought you were.”

Ethan couldn’t help but smile at her candor. “Have you always been this forthcoming?”

“Well, I don’t know. Have you always been so aloof?”

Kharma KelleyA Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy author, Kharma Kelley has been enamored with all things that go “bump in the night” for who knows how long. She truly believes that finding humanity and beauty in some of the most seemingly unconventional places is part of the romantic psyche to her. A big fan of the Big Easy, Kharma tends to weave her proud Cajun heritage and values into her books. She lives in Texas with her husband, enjoys reading other urban fantasy and romance novels, and playing Minecraft in her spare time. She frequents Wattpad (which she refers to as a story “incubator”) often and beta tests her new story ideas there as well as provide guidance and critiques to aspiring authors.

Her works are often compared to Laurell K. Hamilton, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Gena Showalter, Kresley Cole and the late great author, L.A. Banks.

Quote from Kharma Kelley on writing Paranormal Romance:
“There’s something intriguing about strong women finding love in all the “wrong” places in the world of fantasy. Of angels, demons, ghosts, werewolves and your occasional blood sucker, all these paranormal metaphors are catalysts of what humans are and crave most…that we’re all different, beautiful and a little bit weird–and just want someone to love us for who we are.”
